Position: Maintenance Equipment Supervisor
Under the direction of the Maintenance Engineering Director/Manager, you will supervise the manufacturing maintenance area to ensure timely and efficient maintenance of production automation equipment. Responsibilities include establishing and monitoring the performance of preventive maintenance programs and personnel for improvement of production line performance along with scheduling and planning of line maintenance and cost reduction activities.
Essential job responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinates PM, major projects, and equipment upgrades.
Oversee the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for manufacturing equipment. Review the program and implement changes for improving manufacturing line efficiencies and maintenance department performance.
Perform and write Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures
Work with cross-functional groups (Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Accounting) in process, quality, and cost improvement projects as well as in the resolution of major issues.
Troubleshooting and resolving automation equipment issues.
Manage spare part's usage for manufacturing equipment and make changes to improve cost and efficiency.
Responsible for performing/supporting quality investigations in a timely and thorough manner per applicable investigation procedures.
Submit maintenance project for approval and ensure the availability of resources for timely completion.
Provides performance appraisal, employee coaching, and counseling. Resolves conflicts and implement disciplinary action, when needed. Approves employee change status such as promotion, demotion, and termination.
Develops on-the-job technical and equipment safety training for maintenance personnel.
Interfaces with outside vendors for equipment purchases. Reviews technical data on equipment to be used for modification or replacement.
Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
Ensures all MFG areas and equipment are maintained in Good Housekeeping condition.
Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to Work Instructions, Tool Qualifications, Drawings, and BOM lists.
Modify existing equipment to improve product quality, increase part throughout, decrease equipment downtime, and strengthen safety measures.
Monitor maintenance processes for compliance with Company, FDA, ISO, OSHA, and GMP regulations.
Provide supervision and mentorship to engineers, technicians, and other employee tiers.
Manage staffing (headcount) to meet equipment maintenance needs and coordinates the tasks for hiring.
Participate in the resolution of non-conformances and corrective and preventive actions.
Practice 5S in MFG areas and ensure that the production tools are maintained in perfect order.
Monitor equipment MTTR and MTBF and chart course for continuous improvement of OEE.
- Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level
Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a strong technical presence
Good understanding of mechanical design concepts and machinery: Electrical, Mechanical, and Electromechanical schematics, motors, pumps, vacuum, and hydraulics
Experience in maintenance or technical field, supplemented by courses in Supervisory and Communications skills, Good Manufacturing Practices, cost accounting, product quality, and excellent computer knowledge
High Volume World Class Manufacturing principles.
Technical equipment expertise, knowledge, and skillset.
Hands-on equipment experience with hand tools and machine shop tooling expertise
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
Plastic Injection Molding
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Lean 5S Manufacturing knowledge
PLC and Control Systems
Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Project Management skills
Vision and Laser Systems
Equipment retrofit upgrades and qualifications
Capable of lifting 30 pounds
