As Manager, Internal Communications, you will play a critical role within the global internal communications organization to support the creation and execution management of strategic communication programs and deliverables that span channels and formats, align with business objectives, and clearly represent Cepheid’s brand.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Internal Communications, this position will be located in Sunnyvale, California or Remote. This position requires experience across internal and external communications, executive communications, event planning & execution, and impeccable project management skills. The right candidate is a strategic critical thinker, strong writer and excellent communicator, who will serve as an advisor to various functional teams around communications and internal and external messaging. She/he must work well in a fast-paced work environment, under deadlines, and be able to clearly define priorities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assess, elevate and manage our channel strategy to deliver strategic integrated communications to reach our associates across geographies and workplace settings.

  • Lead and project manage comprehensive, integrated global employee engagement campaigns to highlight the impact of our work and promote associate participation.

  • Serve as a cross-functional strategic communications partner with key internal stakeholders, teams and functions to understand the business needs and priorities and effectively deliver communications support, counsel and execution.

  • Write, edit and design communication materials appropriate for different channels and formats, for different audiences, and in different voices. This includes core messaging, talking points, internal articles and webpages, company-wide emails, newsletters, FAQs, scripts, reports, presentations, etc.

  • Drive continuous improvement for our communications activities, including proactively identifying new opportunities and implementing new processes that up-level our communications program.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related with 8+ OR Masters +6 OR Doctoral +3 years of experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in internal/external communications, executive communications, and change management in an agency or corporate environment.

  • Project management experience, owning comprehensive, integrated projects with multi-stakeholders, deliverables and deadlines.

  • Experience developing communication plans and delivering communications across a variety of voices and formats under varying contexts

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Prior experience developing and managing global corporate events and campaigns

  • Extensive usage of PowerPoint

  • Experience managing consultants and vendor relationships

  • Experience launching new communication platforms and tools
