Danaher Corporation Manager, Reagent Manufacturing in Lodi, California
The Manager, Reagent Manufacturing will be directly responsible for leading end-to-end production operations for bead and bulk reagents in the Cepheid manufacturing facility in Lodi CA. The incumbent will partner with the manufacturing management team for consumables and fill-pack operations, DBSL, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Operations, Facilities, and EH&S to drive production critical metrics that contribute to corporate objectives and core value drivers.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage staff resources by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training, and developing associates for growth opportunities
Maximize the performance of Value Streams by implementing and sustaining lean conversion principles in order to meet customer requirements.
Develop and execute strategy for improving the safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity (SQDIP) performance.
Report progress and vital countermeasures to achieve set goals through Daily Management walkthroughs.
Mentor and develop teams, facilitate individual and team growth
Utilize standard reports and visual management to clearly communicate production schedules, delays, and corrective action
Responsible for on-time delivery of product from respective work cells
Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; observing processes and equipment, supervising personnel and resources, developing reporting systems in accordance with company guidelines to ensure success in meeting the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity goals.
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and advising personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining established policies and procedures.
Drive ever-improving results by leveraging Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision and direct work priorities of direct report supervisors and manufacturing associates
Provides input for capital expenditures for new equipment and facilities to meet production demand
Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching
Support/Lead productive kaizen events and sustainment of KPIs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education or Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level
5 to 7 years in an FDA/ISO regulated manufacturing environment; 5 years minimum in a leadership role
Extensive experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies
Knowledge and skills:
Leadership: Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example; ability to influence decision making with or without authority, facilitate discussions with perspectives, bring teams to an agreement. High tolerance for ambiguity
Communication: Interpersonal skills that build productive relationships and influence others, both within the business and across organizations. Ability to communicate at different levels of the business (senior leaders to working teams), exceptionally good listening skills, able to present sophisticated or new insights with clarity
Teamwork: collaborate effectively with others in the spirit of common objectives
Planning and Execution: Excellent project management and prioritization skills. Solid eye for business. Able to deliver results despite shifting demands
Analytical Problem Solving: Able to identify problems; apply structured and principled methodology to identify root cause using data.
Hands-on experience with DBS tools: PSP, Standard Work, TPI, DM, 4E, SMED, VSM, 3P, and VPM
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate practitioner experience in Operations roles
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view
Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business
Mastery of a variety of Fundamentals and Lean DBS tools
Superior communications skills
Superior training, consulting, and influencing skills
Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies
Good writing and administrative skills, including digital literacy
Showed strength in time and project management
