Danaher Corporation Materials Supervisor in Lodi, California
This role is a floor position that will require 80% of the workday spent in the Warehouse Materials Operations; to create a climate in which people want to do their best; empowers others; invites input from each person; makes each individual feel his/her work is important; is someone people like working for and with. At all times, the Materials Supervisor will promote a collaborative/partnership atmosphere toward all employees. The Materials Supervisor will be responsible for coaching, motivating, and leading the warehouse Materials team to accomplish the productivity goals for the day and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, standard methodologies, and policies are adhered to consistently. The Materials Supervisor will assist the material handlers with all aspects of warehouse duties which include but not limited to processing, receiving/put away, pick/pack, inter-company transfers, cycle counts.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures the warehouse is operating under strict GMP/ISO guidelines.
Provides daily direction and leadership to the material handlers.
Delegating and assigning tasks and targets and evaluating the workload of the staff.
Ensure all training activities for the warehouse are completed on time.
Accountable for the safe operation of all equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, and other equipment in the operation.
Ensures all warehouse staff are trained properly to operate all warehouse equipment.
Ensures the warehouse equipment is in safe operating condition and promptly addresses any equipment issues within 24 hours.
Makes recommendations for manpower needs including involvement in recruitment and selection process within the warehouse.
Accountable for staffing, training, motivation, and leadership within the warehouse.
Establishes and maintains procedures for determining and meeting company and customer commitments by handling materials, providing labor, and effective use of time.
Recommends and assists in implementing operating procedures and promotes continual improvement within the warehouse.
Work continuously to improve operations and reduce costs.
Analyze root causes and execute countermeasures for daily work challenges.
Facilitates supervisors and leads meetings to review performance metrics and goals for the shifts.
Warehouse Errors: Responsible for researching and identifying the root cause.
Inventory control: Research/reconcile end-of-day cycle count variances.
Follows warehouse methods for material using the proper SOP and takes ownership of process documentation, creation, changes, and periodic review.
Accountable for ensuring the warehouse is audit-ready 24x7 and participates in and/or leads self-audits.
Readily act to implement effective countermeasures and monitor the sustainment of audit findings.
Accountable for ensuring the warehouse is 5S ready 24x7 and promotes 5S activities to sustain warehouse organization and safety.
The materials Supervisor will document and report to the Materials Manager any situation, incident, or problems that directly relate to the efficient, complete, and timely dispatch of all assigned work within 24 hours.
Must investigate and report all accidents and near misses to the Materials Manager in a timely and efficient manner.
Will ensure all warehouse personnel are aware of their job duties and will be cross-trained as needed.
Administers the formal annual performance review and provides informal feedback to warehouse personnel throughout the year.
Responsible for recognition, development planning, talent assessment, performance management (disciplinary actions (warnings, PIPs, and terminations) succession planning.
Achieves core critical metrics set by management, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Lead special projects as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience:
High school degree with 8+ years of experience OR
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR
Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience Knowledge and skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SAP required.
Knowledge of and experience with packaging materials used to safely transport all products required.
Previous Kaizen/Continuous improvement experience.
Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehouse activities (MSDS, Equipment checklist).
Certified, or ability to be certified on all forklift equipment.
Working understanding of WMS system.
Excellent leadership and administration skills and abilities.
Strong motivational skills and effective team building and decision making.
Ability to effectively manage time, resolve crisis, and decision making.
Ability to efficiently coordinate workings with internal and external workers of the company.
Ability to work multiple shifts and occasional weekend shifts during peak season.
Commitment to performance: Demonstrates a commitment to doing it “the right way” with a high level of attention to detail and high personal standards of performance.
Proficient knowledge of ERP systems and experience working with SAP. Physical requirements/abilities:
Ability to lift 25lbs and work in a warehouse environment
Ability to stand for several hours.
Available to work weekends.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment including but not limited to forklift and pallet jack.
