Danaher Corporation Operations Program Manager, Plastics in Lodi, California

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cepheid’s mission: Delivering A Better Way to improve patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere. This role supports the Cepheid mission by collaborating to define and execute on strategies related to Lodi Plastics capacity expansion and continuous improvement.

This role reports directly to the Lodi Site Executive Director and is responsible for managing various assigned Plastic Injection Molding Operations projects related to growth, expansion, continuous improvement, business continuity, construction and talent acquisition from concept to sustainment. The individual in this role must support the Cepheid mission and be able to define, develop and execute on complex multi-disciplinary project plans, managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing to ensure on-time delivery and adhering to agreed upon scope and budget. This role is a member of the Lodi Site Leadership Team and will be responsible to form and lead cross-functional teams involving both internal and external resources as appropriate to achieve success.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Study, follow and emphasize all Environmental Health and Safety and Cepheid Quality System policies and practices to ensure world-class safety, quality and compliance in all aspects of job-related activities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Lodi Plastics Operations including growth and expansion requirements and participate in strategy development activities

  • Collaborate with Lodi and Sunnyvale Site Leadership to determine and define project scope including schedule, budget, resources and deliverables

  • Create detailed project charters including scope, deliverables, plan/schedule, budget, risk register and resource allocation table and update/report on a regular cadence – escalate with any concerns related to achieving required results

  • Prioritize activities, collaborate with teams, communicate direction and status and manage multiple projects from concept to sustainment

  • Track and report project progress status including budget, resources, and completion metrics to leadership team while communicating associated risks and support needed

  • Lead cross-functional/site project teams to ensure on-time project delivery while meeting defined budget and deliverables requirements

  • Develop, document, validate and maintain BCP [Business Continuity Plan] for the Lodi Plastics Sites

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

  • For people managers, ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time

  • Ensure all team members have training and experience required to support project requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related work experience in Project Management, Business or Operations Management specifically related to manufacturing and/or high-volume production

  • Project Management Professional

  • Plastic Injection Molding project management – 5+ years

  • TPS, Lean, Continuous Improvement

  • Business Continuity Planning

Knowledge and skills:

  • Operations capacity expansion project management

  • Plastic Injection Molding

  • Medical Device Manufacturing

  • Operations Leadership – 5+ years

  • Team building, communication and collaboration

  • Construction, facilities/plant layout, capacity expansion, recruiting and workforce acquisition management

  • Strong computer and MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Visio

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Office environment as well as time on production floor

Other:

  • Travel to Sunnyvale and additional Cepheid sites as required, in relation to expansion and continuous improvement projects
