Danaher Corporation Production Lead in Lodi, California

POSITION SUMMARY:

With the support of Supervisors, Trainers, Quality Techs, etc. a Production Lead is essential to the manufacture of injection molded consumables for the use of Cepheid/Danaher Life Science Diagnostics finished goods. This role will be expected to provide guidance for Manufacturing Associate I, II, IIIs and QTs while ensuring the successful completion and compliance in the initiation, maintenance, operation, packaging, inspection, environmental maintenance, and environmental control through injection molding. The production lead is an integral part of the Quality and Safety culture within the site and will be responsible to report as applicable, document when appropriate, and adhere to pertinent regulations and policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and report any violations of company safety policies and practices

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment. Lead by example and assist supervisors in monitoring use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures

  • Adheres to, trains and helps to enforce compliance of GMP. ISO, Environmental, Health and Safety procedures. Participates in tours and audits

  • Coaches and provides performance feedback to production associates on policies, processes, SOP’s and Work Instructions

  • Schedules and monitors breaks and lunches of production associates

  • Communicates with other Leads to ensure alignment with daily goals and priorities

  • Provides Leadership and support in ensuring quality, lowering costs, and improving productivity by:

  • Identifying opportunities to improve equipment

  • Identifying and eliminating sources of inefficiencies

  • Assisting in daily analysis of scrap to identify training and improvement opportunities

  • Prioritize production activities

  • Train associates on products, processes, and documentation

  • Completes Kamishibi, QDIP, layered and other audits and reports as required

  • Coordinates specific activities and assignments of production resources to meet goals, objectives, production schedules and core metrics by:

  • Assigning daily tasks to support production requirements

  • Help to coordinate set-up and changeover of manufacturing equipment

  • Assist in reviewing and completing all documentation accurately

  • Assist to ensure all documentation is compliant with GDP requirements

  • Help to ensure work center cleanliness and maintain visual workplace standards

  • Work with Quality Technicians to investigate and resolve any quality or non-conformance issues

  • Partners with Material Planning to understand what is needed to meet production plan

  • Oversees movement of materials into and out of clean room

  • Ensures Associate Compliance Training is complete and up to date

  • Assis supervisor in proactively identifying and resolving potential issues/discrepancies and notifies supervisor, resolves routine issues, works with supervisor to resolve issues of moderate complexity

  • Fosters a collaborative work environment within and across departments

  • Steps in as needed on Manufacturing floor for associates not present on shift

  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs

  • Assists supervisor in resolving personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action

  • Supports lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Provides recommendations to supervisor in selecting associates for recognition and reward for positive impact to the Manufacturing Environment

  • Other tasks assigned by Supervisor/ Asst. Supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education or Experience (in years):

  • 3-5 years in Manufacturing Environment

  • 3 years Machine Operator experience

Knowledge and skills:

  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Demonstrated proficiency of manufacturing systems and requirements

  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials and other planning activities

  • Familiar with DBS

  • Good communication skills (listening, written, verbal, presentation)

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

  • Experience working in a clean room environment

  • Takes ownership of personal actions and outcomes; encourages and empowers others to do the same

  • Basic to proficient Print or photo capture: Dynalite software, Micro-vu capture, Color rotation, File resolution

  • Experience using Zebra printer

  • Experience with Labor schedules
