Job Description Summary:
This is a Technical Writer role within Cepheid Lodi Manufacturing Engineering Department. The individual in this role will be collaborating with Cepheid Engineering, Tooling, Processing, Equipment Maintenance, Manufacturing/Production teams, and other internal cross functional groups for the development and update of technical documentation. These documents cover Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, and Test Protocols used in manufacturing of injection molded medical device components.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate up with Cepheid SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) to develop procedures, work instructions and protocols related to manufacturing of medical injection molded components.
Written and visual communication of complex medical device manufacturing process and equipment into clear and concise outputs for internal and external use
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Review existing documentation and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format and content.
Have in-depth understanding of internal development procedures and external global compliance needs
Create complex visual information using tools such as CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Write, edit, review, proof-read, and publish end-user documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, validity, clarity of information and in line with corporate standards for style and quality.
Route and Release documents in Agile.
Estimate and schedule the time required to complete assignments and provide regular updates of progress
Train to Danaher Business System (DBS) and apply DBS tools as applicable.
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time.
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR
Master’s degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.
Demonstrated technical and analytical ability with a high degree of professional acuity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability in technical writing, organization documentation, reorganization documentation; experience reviewing and editing cross functional team documentation..
Strong / Concise verbal and written Technical communication skills
Familiar with high volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding.
Experienced and comfortable with executive-level presentations (.ppt / “elevator pitches”).
Proficient in MS Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
Ability to create and edit videos, pictures.
Create and develop database for documents and BKM’s.
Ability to train on Agile. Release, update documents in Agile using Agile workflows.
Ability to work in an office environment onsite at Lodi, Ca, work remotely.
Some travel may be required (25%)
Must be able to sit for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
Website development. Ability to create and manage a Wiki page or similar knowledgebase is a plus.
Experience in data analysis using tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau
Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day to day supervision
Self-starter with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, critical thinking skills, and problem solving under constraints.
Familiar with Injection molding & tooling.
Familiar with CAD software
