The Associate Analytical Scientist in the Raw Material Characterization team uses analytical and chemical techniques to characterize raw materials. The Associate Analytical Scientist will develop and run tests on raw materials, record and analyze data, write reports of experiments conducted and will contribute to the daily requirements of the Raw Material Characterization team.
What you’ll do
Utilize knowledge of analytical chemistry and biology to characterize impurities in raw materials.
Perform analytical testing using various instruments including UPLC, ICP-MS and XRF.
Develop new methodology for raw material analysis.
Compile, organize and analyze data from analytical tests.
Prepare written and oral presentations to discuss findings.
Work with laboratory technicians and other scientists to resolve problems related to raw material analysis.
Provide safe processes that comply with all local and federal guidelines.
Adhere to department rules and laboratory procedures, as well as company regulations stated in the employee handbook.
Adhere to department specific safety guidelines.
Standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, manual manipulation, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Who you are
Master’s degree in Chemistry, or Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience.
Must have basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel.
Must have the ability to follow advanced laboratory instructions and safety requirements.
Experience using UPLC and/or ICP-MS or similar instruments is preferred.
Ability to handle potentially hazardous chemicals and biological samples.
Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills and work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
