For our Cell Culture Media R&D function, we are looking for an experienced R&D Manager / Chemistry and Raw Materials to lead a team of Manufacturing Sciences and Technology professionals supporting our operations across the world. The team is responsible for scientific-technical support of our buffers and process liquid business and raw material sourcing. We are on a steep expansion path and need to grow our scientific-technical teams to support the growth of the business. Do you have a passion for chemistry and problem-solving? What you’ll do
Lead the new Chemistry and Raw Materials Team supporting global Cell Culture Media manufacturing sites in the following responsibilities:
Assay and other test development for a wide range of organic and inorganic molecules supporting media and buffer manufacturing
Scientific-technical responsibility for design, review, manufacture, and quality release of buffers and reagents
Evaluation and approval of all scientific-technical aspects of sourcing and testing raw materials
Application of analytical expertise across a broad range of bioprocess products to resolve complaints, raw material concerns, manufacturing needs, and to support product and regulatory quality requirements
Who you are
MS or higher degree in biochemistry, inorganic, organic, or physical chemistry with at least 5 years of experience
A problem solver who loves working with varied teams and priorities
Analytical thinker who can apply scientific principles to real life applications
Proficient in analytical techniques, such as HPLC/UPLC, ICP-MS, biochemical assays, quantitative and qualitative wet chemistry
Good understanding of buffer chemistry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Genuine interest in mentoring and developing team members and creating a positive collaborative environment
