What you’ll do

The RRP Technician will manufacture powder and liquid formulations using verbal and written procedures. The use of aseptic techniques will be required for all liquid formulations. The position requires extreme attention to detail in following production procedures, in record keeping, and maintaining a clean work area. Will assist with raw materials and finished goods inventory on a regular basis. May also assist with cell culture experiments, and other developmental work as needed.

  • Participate in rapid response production of cell culture products based on customer inquiries and specifications

  • Prepare powders and liquids following detailed formulations.

  • Follow verbal and written laboratory procedures and may be asked to modify existing procedures.

  • Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation (mixers, pumps, mills, pH meter, osmometer, scales, and balances).

  • Perform raw material, in-process, and finished goods testing.

  • Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.

  • General direction is given in the execution of job-related activities.

  • Comply with EHS regulations and policies.

  • Laboratory conditions apply; gowning-up may be required. Will be exposed to various chemicals and may be required to handle potentially hazardous biological materials.

Aware of and comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming and rework documentation requirements and operates within them to ensure that the product conforms to its specification Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this job type/position

Who you are

  • High school diploma or local equivalent

  • At least one year of experience in a similar environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency to utilize computerized work systems

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with specific direction and information

  • Ability to communicate using local language

  • Basic knowledge of chemistry and laboratory calculations as required

  • Basic understanding of standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation

  • Self-motivator; must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Must be attentive to details and extreme accuracy

  • Must maintain a very clean work environment

  • Must be able to interact with others in a professional manner

  • Must be trustworthy; will be working with proprietary information

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a semi-regular basis and move barrels weighing as much as 500 pounds

Desired Characteristics

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in Life Sciences

  • Must demonstrate the ability to accurately follow written formulation documents

  • Must demonstrate extreme attention to maintaining a clean, neat work area and maintaining production records

  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of aseptic techniques, chemistry, laboratory calculations and procedures, and ability to utilize a computer

  • Basic understanding of cell culture practices desired, but not necessary
