Danaher Corporation Quality Specialist in London, Ontario
About the Quality Specialist role:
In this role, you will provide quality assurance services to ensure the integrity of our products received and shipped out, services provided to clients, support business and customer needs, and comply with government regulations and industry and operating company (OpCo) standards. You may be responsible for supplier selection and auditing, material qualification, material inspection and test, performance monitoring, and supplier development.
Perform visual/operational evaluation and document findings of returned field components/assemblies/materials
Ability to apply critical thinking to effectively perform product evaluation and classification of defects; initiate root cause analysis & corrective actions (Plan-Do-Check-Act, PDCA mindset)
Support the Quality Assurance Specialists, Service Dept/Customer Service, and Engineering Dept. in identifying product quality/reliability improvement opportunities
Work with product suppliers to issue non-conformances, obtain return approvals, file non-conformance corrective actions, raise/lower inspection flags based on product & supplier performance
Perform basic statistical analysis to identify quality and reliability trends (First Pass Yield, Material defects, PSPs) and lead the required corrective actions to improve on gaps, where they exist
Execute or assist with key QMS activities: update controlled documents, log deviations/stop orders, complete internal audits, calibration collaboration, training activities, management of material control board (Quarantine/Dispositions)
Provide support to the Specialist in part qualification activities
Manage process and product non-conformances in line with company procedures
Develop, maintain, monitor, and audit quality management systems and protocols including systems automation, processes, and procedures that ensure compliance with regulations and standards
Are you qualified?
Diploma or degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Technological Sciences)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and regulatory standards
Strong metrology/GD&T skills (CMM experience considered an asset)
ASQ-Certified Quality Technician/Engineer preferred (ability to obtain)
Strong verbal and written communication
Able to create concise technical reports and summaries using various MS tools (Excel, Access, Word, etc.), and customized ERP software
Strong problem solving skills, troubleshooting ability, with experience in a variety of manufacturing processes
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and make informed timely decisions,
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
Self-driven, quality first mindset, ability to work with little direct supervision, ability to coach peers, and support the department and organization, as needed
Strong team acumen and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
Attention to detail and tactical execution
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a global environment
Self-motivated and able to manage concurrent, conflicting priorities
