This position is part of the Field Service Organization located in Central/Southern Ohio and Kentucky. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives. You will be a part of the Field Service Team and report to the Regional Field Service Manager responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs, primarily with our Histology and Pathology Diagnostic Equipment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on Histology and Pathology Diagnostic Equipment.

  • Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.

  • Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives and service team members with system configurations/upgrades, and provide feedback on ways to improve financial performance.

  • Maintain spare parts' stock within budgetary limits to maximize customer uptime and field service-related metrics.

  • maintenance of personal material inventory, tooling inventory, and company vehicle

  • Receive mentoring/ride-along from team members as required to achieve full competency on trained instruments.

  • Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external customers within established time guidelines to meet customer’s expectations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associates Degree with 1 year of experience OR equivalent military experience.

  • Travel throughout the district ( 70%-90%) with frequent overnights, often with short notice. Occasional international travel may be required.

  • Works independently from home in collaboration with regional dispatch coordinator, as well as sales and applications specialists

  • Possessing a valid Driver’s License and meeting fleet eligibility requirements.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical/electronic equipment, or scientific instruments.

  • Field Service Engineering or Networking/IT system upgrades.

  • A lab environment.
