Position summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to own the Mechanical Engineering team at Hach in Loveland, CO and make a difference in Water Quality! This includes building, leading, and mentoring the team in the design and support of Hach’s current and future products.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Build and drive Mechanical Engineering development strategies

  • Review architectures and designs as needed to ensure adherence to Hach Mechanical standards, processes, and good design practices.

  • Supervise metrics and ensure teams are considering the use of groundbreaking and innovative technology.

  • Collaborate across global development sites to ensure that the teams are demonstrating common technologies across Hach.

  • Is a champion for, and drives, continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate Mechanical Engineering talent through organizational reviews, performance evaluations, development plans, merit recommendations and capacity planning.

  • Provides Coaching & Mentoring to staff members.

  • Technical depth and ability to provide technical alternatives to facilitate business trade off discussions.

  • Leads the department’s effort in hiring and onboarding of team members

  • Actively participate in design reviews and toll gate reviews for programs.


  • BS or BA in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • MS, MA, or MBA in business, marketing, engineering, or technology management preferred

  • Five+ years industry experience; Four or more years in a product development organization.

  • Experience in a team leadership role manging mechanical engineers

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Honesty, integrity and trust. Leads by example.

The salary range for this role is $93,500 - $128,600. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
