This associate will develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.

Essential job responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and development of automation projects including, initial concept, design requirements, system architecture, test plan, prototype fabrication /testing and final production release.
Contribute to the definition and design of the system architecture, ranging from simplified block diagrams, to the detailed architecture
Create documentation for design input requirements, specifications, design of experiments, assembly and service procedures. Author acceptance test and validation protocols and reports
Lead own design reviews for all phases of the design process
Select and specify machine components such as motors, pneumatics, solenoids, conveyors, part feeding components, enclosures and hardware
Modify existing equipment to improve product quality, increase part throughput, decrease cost, and/or strengthen safety measures. Maintain strict compliance with ISO13485, cGMP, QSR and other applicable Quality Management System standards.
Designs, modifies, develops, and implements electromechanical designs and assembly fixturing for production.
Supports in the sustaining activities of active products.
Participates in the testing process through test plan development, review, execution, and/or analysis of tests based on established specifications.
Education and Experience (in year of related work experience OR
Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR
Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.
Knowledge and skills:
Ability to perform engineering calculations such as force, speed, stress & thermal analysis, etc. as relevant to the application
Experience in crafting enclosures for electronic products needing to operate in extreme environmental environments including IP ratings.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven project management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a strong technical presence
Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient in SolidWorks 2012 or later, PDM or EPDM preferred
Proficient with ANSI Y14.5-2009 and use of GD&T
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 - 7 years of related work experience, OR
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 - 5 years of related work experience
Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience including, but not limited to, high speed assembly tools, precision mechanism, robotics and automation
Experience in the Medical Device field and Quality regulations environment
Experience using Agile
Experience writing IQ, OQ, and PQ Protocols
Conceptual understanding of injection-molded plastic parts
The salary range for this role is 75K - 95K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
