Danaher Corporation Temporary R&D Chemistry Tech I, ATG Support in Loveland, Colorado

Purpose of Position:

The primary role of this position is to develop chemical products and product applications for use with Hach's systems for analytical analysis with supervision by a technical team member or chemistry manager. Responsible for the investigation of new technologies and experimentation.

This is a temporary position with possibility of being converted to full time.

Essential Functions:

  • Follows required safety procedures and lab protocol

  • Follows direction of more senior members to perform tasks, primarily protocol execution and data collection.

  • Perform chemical analysis methods and chemical product applications evaluations with academic experience and ability to determine feasibility.

  • Perform tasks associated with development and evaluation of water quality analyzers and instrumentation

  • Work closely with research team to perform laboratory experiments and instrument evaluations, while managing these activities at the background academic level requirement.

  • The employee uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction, but refers deviations, problems, and unfamiliar situations not covered by instructions to the supervisor for decision or help. Finished work and methods used are reviewed for technically accuracy and compliance with instructions or established procedures.

  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebook to record laboratory work performed.

  • Demonstrates a proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Other Non-Essential Functions:

  • Assists with general laboratory and stockroom maintenance to help maintain department efficiency.

  • Adheres to company’s Quality System, through proper use of departmental procedures.

Education, Background and Skill Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Chemistry or a closely related field

  • Previous research experience strongly preferred

  • Solid chemistry skills, analytical laboratory techniques, practices, and procedures. Strong understanding of chemical principles. Good analytical skills.

  • Understanding of electrochemistry preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $20 - $22 hourly. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
