Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. _Purpose of Position_:
The primary role of this position is to utilize drawings or sketches with supervision to machine or maintain various components of different types of tools (i.e. jigs, fixtures, punches, dies, molds, prototypes etc.). Also, this position supports Hach products to ensure that engineering and production targets are achieved.
_Essential Functions_: * Build or perform maintenance on close tolerance injection molds, vacuum molds, prototypes and specialty tooling per tool drawing specifications and departmental standards. * Complete project assignments within scheduled due dates, job estimates and required quality standards. * Support and follow all department and corporate ISO procedures and work instructions. * Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with peers and internal/external customers. * Assist other tool and mold makers with projects, when necessary, to achieve on time delivery commitments. * Complete associated documentation including but not limited to, project labor hours, work order information, project estimates and purchase requisitions for assigned area of responsibility. * Carry out assigned preventive maintenance responsibilities and maintain general housekeeping standards for equipment and facility. * Work in a way that ensures safety of self and co-workers. _Other Non-Essential Functions_: * Attend and participate departmental planning sessions. * Attend and successfully complete all mandatory and required training sessions. * Utilize effectively and efficiently, own skills, time management, company resources and equipment.
* High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of two years experience in tool and mold building or 4 years machining experience. * Knowledge of equipment and practices associated with mold building and related tooling. * Knowledge of precision inspection practices, hand tools and equipment. * Knowledge of materials used in the fabrication of tools, prototypes and molds. * Ability to select correct materials based upon machining, heat treating, welding, wear and polishing. * Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and tool drawings. * Ability to program and operate with minimal supervision, CNC mills, CNC EDM’s, CNC lathe and other standard tool room equipment. * CAD/CAM, experience preferred _ENVIRONMENT_ _ _ _Physical Demands_
