The Senior R&D Automation Software Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for the development efforts of Automation projects, designing reliable products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

This position is part of the Upstream and Fluid Management R&D organization located in Belgium and will be an on-site position. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:• Create new PLC and HMI software based on requirements, existing Cytiva libraries and guidelines.• Create, review and maintain automation requirements based on customer requirements, including relevant regulations, standards, norms or guidelines.• Execute automation functions in projects, including writing design documentation, risk assessment, verification processes, cybersecurity, and related tasks, where coordination and oversight capabilities are helpful.• Execute software creation tasks through engagement, collaboration, and indirect influence of resources to obtain consensus in a global organization, while connecting with people empathetically, energizing and motivating your teammates, and inspiring them to work toward the project goals, all while complying with design controls, applicable regulations, GDP, and internal processes.• Efficiently and comprehensively communicate the development progress to project teams and stakeholders while ensuring all the product Automation requirements are being addressed by the appropriate owners.

The essential requirements of the job include:• Multiple years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Automation engineering, Software engineering, or other related field. Master’s degree preferred;• Expertise on developing software for automated systems (PLC/HMI software development – Siemens TIA Portal and PCS7) and new emerging technologies (AI, MTP, …)• Being able to work in a heavily regulated industry and have a good understanding of relevant industry, regulatory and design standards and guidelines (GAMP5, 21CFR11, ISA-88, IEC-62443)• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across all levels within a global, multidisciplinary team, including written and verbal communication. Fluent English is mandatory.

NB: This position is based onsite so that you should be willing to relocate in Belgium.
