The Buyer Planner - Supply Chain for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for m anaging vendors to ensure continuity of material supply.

This position is part of the Materials and Planning department located in Munich, Baierbrunn and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage vendors to ensure continuity of material supply in order to maintain uninterrupted production and in accordance with purchasing and inventory policies. Manage inventory levels in order to meet set inventory targets with the minimum risk of obsolescence

  • Place purchase orders & updates, manage call-offs and monitor vendor performance. Ensure all Oracle system messages are acted upon in a timely and efficient manner and all system data records are accurate and up to date

  • Material requirements planning for selected products/suppliers and effective scheduling of responsible production areas

  • Identification of potential procurement problems, taking the necessary precautions and communicating these issues to the Logistics and relevant Departmental Managers

  • Ensure that scrap, rework, returns etc ... are identified and the necessary vendor communications take place to obtain credit or replacement in line with purchasing policy

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Business Degree or equivalent Supply Chain Management Certification (e.g. APICS) or Diploma and a couple of years’ experience in a relevant Buyer/Planner position or supply chain management

  • Firm grasp of lean manufacturing and pull system principles for managing inventory

  • Ability to work in a methodical and accurate manner

  • Proficient in ERP (preferable Oracle), EXCEL and Power Point

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
