The Software Developer in Test (f/m/d) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible of the verification of the developed software by implementing automated tests and conducting manual tests in simulation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Verify that the developed software (non-UI backend applications/services as well as UI applications running on Windows) fulfills given requirements by implementing automated tests and conducting manual tests in simulation.  

  • Understand and review subsystem level requirements and participate in development/design discussions making recommendations to improve automation test activities. 

  • Ensure product robustness through a structured testing process, i.e. as exemplified by the test pyramid and by exploratory methods.  

  • Document and communicate issues found during testing to facilitate corrective action by developers and/or designers. 

  • Creat e , maint ai n, and execut e of automated test suites. 

  • Contribute to the development, improvement, and growth of the automation framework. 

  • Serve as mentor for team members with less experience and spread knowledge in fundamental testing principles and associated tooling.   

  • Drive continuous integration by development and automated execution of verification protocols. 

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or BE. in Software Engineering, preferred ISTQB certification.

  • Experience in programming in C# and Visual Studio and related test frameworks , i.e. MSTest and/or NUnit AND e xperience in a gile methodologies and Azure DevOps for managing work progress .  

  • H ands-on experience with API and UI testing and familiarity with a variety of software testing tools such as SpecFlow , Postman, Framework for Integrated Test, Load Test, TestComplete , Selenium, etc. 

  • Solid understanding of FDD, TDD and BDD principles and patterns and experience in CI/CD pipelines managed in Azure DevOps.

  • Experience with creating test plans and test cases, as well as automation of test cases and automation framework design for non-UI applications/services.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to quickly make and influence technical decisions as part of the software development and drive open issues to a successful closure.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Detailed level project-related verification activities .

  • Metrics management of verification progress, project issues, risks, and requirements.

  • Understanding of code quality metrics, such as code coverage.

  • Management of integration points with other systems that interface with your applications.
