The position of Staff Electrical Engineer VAVE based in our Munich Facility reports to the VAVE Manager EMEA. The Staff Electrical Engineering associate will lead the successful execution of electrical engineering design projects for on-market sustaining engineering activities to ensure reliable product designs and value creation. This role works cooperatively within the VAVE team of 3 associates locally and collaborates globally with other engineering disciplines, including R&D, systems, mechanical, and software engineering.
In this role, you will:
Lead hardware sustaining projects from an electrical perspective (analog / digital circuits and Electro-Mechanical) in collaboration with Operations and R&D
Ensures robust/reliable product design changes making sure that all FDA/ISO/EN and other related requirements are consistently met
Perform various design reviews for redesigned parts
Manage design execution of sophisticated products using a strong systems mindset including hardware, software, fluidics, reagents, biologics, leading closure of all technical gaps
Execute feasibility and verification testing using test fixtures and Beckman Coulter instruments
Create and present technical reports on projects to peers and management
Manage and execute projects in collaboration with the resources from the BU
Develop proficiency with DBS tools including Daily Management, PSP and VAVE
The essential requirements include:
Bachelor/Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, with relevant industry product development experience
Technical ability to understand architecture, system interactions and interfaces of a complex system (reagents, hardware, and software) to drive effective implementation of electrical component designs
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions in a team environment essential
Crafting and maintaining electrical designs that align with product requirements as well ability to convert design concepts to prototypes for performance evaluation
Direct participation in technical design reviews and FMEAs to identify critical design factors and risks that impact product performance
Strong ability to develop schematics using eCAD tools
Proven capability to troubleshoot, develop, or improve electrical and electromechanical systems using analytical and statistical methods
Experience with processes such as product change control, NPD, Root Cause Analysis
Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred but not required
English language skills required; German is a plus
