The Technical Customer Support Engineer II – Lab Automation for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for assisting with the initiation, design, development, and implementation of product improvements and changes. This position also provides real time technical support to Field Service teams.

This position is part of the Global Technical Support Team and will be based out of our office in Munich, Germany. You will report to the Senior Manager responsible for leading a team of 10+ support engineers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Responsible for responding to technical procedural inquiries and concerns.

  • Provide email support to International field team members.

  • Trend, analyze and interpret field generated data.

  • Advise a course of action for problem resolution.

  • Acts as a liaison between Field Service team and Development as part of task teams.

  • Provide Technical Support input for tech bulletins, Field actions, CAPA's etc.

  • Participate on project teams responsible for implementing new product Development and product improvement projects.

  • Build and maintain all departmental and service support related documents.

  • Ensure accuracy/traceability of all records to comply with GMP, ISO, FDA and company policies regarding compliance.

  • Work with team members to problem solve and achieve goals.

  • Collaborates with all partners to utilize Danaher Business System (DBS) for ongoing process improvement.

  • Take a systems approach to instrument issues evaluating implications of both software and hardware on product performance.

  • Maintain accurate and timely record keeping within a learning management system (LMS) for all personal training as well as any training delivered.

  • Develop creative and effective support strategies, providing feedback to and drafting product documentation such as, service manuals and procedures.

  • Provides recommendations in development projects as a customer and service advocate.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, or related technical field with 2+ years of relevant instrument experience in a regulated industry.

  • Demonstrates technical experience, strong analytical skills, and good judgment to solve problems; analyses information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically approximately 50% of the time.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in the medical device or related industry

  • Experience with relevant software programs such as Oracle Business Intelligence Module Skill
