About the Software Technical Sales Engineer role:

The Software Technical Sales Engineer will work alongside the Sales Team by demonstrating the power of Aquatic Informatics' (AQI) Sedaru software solutions to help win business. They will act as a bridge between Sales, Product Management, Support, and Marketing in communicating and specifying customer requirements and market needs. You will work to tackle customer challenges in asset and work order management through the Sedaru suite of software solutions.

We deliver a turnkey software-as-a-service (SaaS) application for critical water infrastructure asset management and real-time monitoring of water system operations. We streamline workflows across the utility enterprise, unify disconnected systems, and extend the useful life of water & wastewater system assets such as pipes, valves, pumps, and more.

We provide a singular, exclusive interface to access, automate, and control information from all utility assets by consolidating one workflow, one sensor, one system at a time. About the Technical Sales Engineer role:

This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in the U.S. or Canada near a major airport. Some locations have been listed, but this is not all-inclusive.

  • Work collaboratively with Account Executives and Account Managers to uncover prospective customer pains, and propose a software solution that addresses those challenges.

  • Help win business through compelling software demonstrations. These demos will be tailored to address customer pains uncovered during the discovery process

  • Lead the RFI/RFP technical response process including pre-bid activities, formal proposal writing, delivering presentations, and post-bid activities

  • Setup, configure, and maintain a software suite demonstration site in the cloud

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge and direct hands-on experience of the software products

  • Tackle solution scoping and documentation in an overview to support project pricing and project handoff to the implementation team, ensuring high customer success

  • Share intelligence gathered from customers, competitors, and markets with internal teams to support product and strategic direction.

  • Present technical presentations at industry conferences and serve as a subject expert

  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours to collaborate with Sales colleagues

  • Travel, about 30%, domestically and internationally

Are you qualified?

  • Post-secondary degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • 2+ years of software technical sales experience (SaaS or enterprise software), or 3+ years of leading and training a utility on the usage of a commercial asset and work order management solution

  • Experience in utility asset and work order management

  • Proficient doing technical software demonstrations

  • Outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to combine professional, persuasive, and personable delivery

  • Solid understanding of Esri GIS

  • Preference for familiarity with automated metering, SCADA, and other utility enterprise technology

  • Preference for familiarity with hydraulic modeling

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate (written and oral) internally and with prospective customers
