Our ideal CIJ Sales Specialist will work specifically within our Continuous Inkjet offering and be responsible for seeking out opportunities to introduce Videojet's coding and marking products as well as our software solutions, building customer relationships, and driving profitable growth. When projects have the potential to become strategic, you will partner with your sales team to finalize the project close. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and meeting the needs of prospective customers by reviewing the application and developing, selling and integrating solutions. This position requires a level of technical aptitude and basic understanding of production environments.

This is a REMOTE opportunity - the territory will include down State IL (to Champain) to Southern WI (to Madison).

Experience in building strong, valued based customer relationships, which will help contribute to Videojet's continued industry leadership position and strong financial performance is a plus.

In your main role at Videojet, you will:

  • Prospect for new accounts that will create new revenue generating activities in the specified sales territory. Doing this in a sustainable, resource efficient way is a source of competitive advantage for Videojet vs its competitors.

  • Promote the specific value of Videojet CIJ coding, marking, and imaging products and services to the customers within the specified geographic territory with the goal of maximizing sales revenue growth and market penetration.

  • Demonstrate the unique attributes of Videojet’s CIJ solutions in on-site customer meetings through demos of our products

  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of key customer decision makers (plant engineering, plant managers, operations managers and technical managers)

  • Develop appropriate sales volume, pricing and standard margin forecasts and capitalize on/compensate for market changes via price changes or share gain.

  • Collaborate alongside our internal sales, service, and customer teams to ensure projects of large scope of expertise are supported appropriately.

  • Improve sales efficiency and effectiveness through the rigorous use of sales tools such as "sales funnels" and "ROI based selling.”

  • Provide basic first line customer assistance as needed; partner with the extended Videojet team to serve customers throughout their product life cycle

  • Technical Aptitude – Able to understand the basic functionality of the technology in order to setup/install a unit for customer production and perform basic customer assistance and troubleshooting

  • Innovate on new approaches to daily work, shaping the future of your role.

Critical Success Factors for the Ideal Candidate Profile are:

  • Influence and attention; your ability to connect and engage customers both over the phone and in person will be critical to success.

  • You have strong time management skills and are very detail oriented.

  • Ability to travel overnight 20% to 40% of the time

  • Ability to think and plan strategically

  • Demonstrated success in each of the described competencies in a business-to-business capital goods selling environment

  • Experience with SFDC and Strategic Selling skills would be a plus

  • Ability to prioritize and work on both long- & short-term projects

  • Ability to troubleshot quickly and work with team members to ensure seamless integration within customer applications and lines.

  • Ambitious – Interested in a longer-term career at Videojet that starts as a “Specialist” but has numerous growth paths within the business.

Your Education and/or Background Experience will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, preferably in a Technical or Business field

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ account management experience or technical sales

  • Direct sales experience in the ink jet product coding industry would be a plus

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
