The Contract Logistics Manager for Leica Biosystems is responsible to manage the Ernst Schmitz contract encompassing warehouse activities in Germany and manage service delivery through our suite of service providers from our DE warehouse to delivery points in the UK.
The execution of this function requires the day-to-day balancing of objectives between the Leica Biosystems Business Units and UK Selling Unit, with the German contractor and other freight providers playing a key role in service delivery.
Located in Taunusstein and will be on-site 3 days/weekly with a hybrid working solution.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage in first person all aspects of commercial account management with the German contractor operating our warehouse in Taunusstein
Timely and accurately deliver products flowing from Germany into UK customers
Manage the Newcastle-Taunusstein-Newcastle trunk
Directly interface with LBS teams both in the UK (including the selling unit) and across the Global Supply Chain
Produce and deliver frequent management information and present data at structured contract review meetings, pertaining to the performance of the German contractor
Regularly publish an accurate forecast of contract costs over the coming months
Identify cost and service improvement initiatives for LBS, delivering in conjunction with the Global Supply Chain team
T he essential requirements of the job include:
A suitable education in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
Consistent experience managing Warehouse and Distribution operations, preferably within a logistics service provider
Experience of European logistics operations
Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice within a highly regulated industry
Excellent communication skills in English and German
10% travel activity on monthly basis to our European locations
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Logistics and distributions of life sciences products
