WATER QUALITY GROUP * * Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including HACH, ChemTreat, and Trojan Technologies.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: * * Based in our Manchester Head Office, the Primary role of this position is to provide technical support and assistance to customers and the external sales team on all Hach instruments. Develop and support Lab and Process Customer Workshops and Lunch and Learns within UK and Ireland on a number of key Environmental/Water Topics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide technical and sales information to external customers by telephone * Drive technical training seminars for customers and internal/external staff through presentations, technical solution solving and application support * Work closely with external sales team passing on technical and sales information * Attend exhibitions where required * Visit customer sites to aid in trouble shooting of customer issues * Providing technical input on quotes & tenders * Adding content to Global Knowledge Base * Other duties covering requirements as necessary RELATIONSHIPS: * * The Technical Support Specialist Reports directly to the Business Support Manager UK & Ireland.Internal Relationships: * Sales Managers * Service Manager & Regional Engineers * Application Development Team * Customer Support/Admin Staff * Marketing Manager * Sales Director * EU Product Specialists External Relationships: * Customers, Contractors, Resellers, OEMs and Product End Users
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE: * Rapid and efficient resolution of technical queries – measured by OTD in Ticketing System * Number of Workshops/Lunch & Learns (both on-site at Manchester and External where required) * Efficient turnaround of bids with a goal of meeting customer specifications. * Overall growth of domestic sales.
* 2 years experience in environmental/water industry, with application knowledge of photometry, electro chemistry and colorimetric analysis * Educated to degree level or equivalent in chemistry or an environmentally related subject. * Ability to respond to customer queries and provide follow-up to customers and external sales team. * Must have the ability to make sound customer related decisions and respond quickly to the needs of the customer. * Must have good computer skills (Microsoft Office, order entry system, etc.).
