What you’ll do

Reporting to Cytiva's America's Controller, the US Assistant Controller will focus on our operational accounting and reporting associated with a recent acquisition. This role will work closely with our US Controllership Team, Close & Reporting Controller, Cytiva COEs, Treasury, Tax, IT, and other finance teams using methodologies to develop and simplify our accounting processes.

Duties include:

  • Support finance integration efforts such as bank account changes, ERP implementation, entity merger and shared services transfers

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly close & reporting process, including owning the preparation of balance sheet reporting, monthly account reconciliation and supplemental data requests

  • Supervise inventory levels, develop, implement and improve inventory control process

  • Analyze and review supply change data to identify and resolve issues

  • Coordinate, implement and account for supplier payments

  • Monitor and apply customer invoicing and collections

  • Process and account for payroll

  • Maintain fixed asset register and related accounting

  • Support SOX compliance and reporting

  • Driving financial integrity while completing consistent and effective policies and procedures

  • Collaborating closely with teams in DHR businesses to exchange on operational improvement opportunities

Who you are

  • Proficient skills in Project Management

  • Showed strength in US GAAP and accounting literature (i.e. FASB pronouncements)

  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate sophisticated business issues in a clear and concise manner

  • Proven problem solver: optimally led projects/operational improvements within operations/finance functions

  • Has experience leading team members and balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, enhancing expertise, clear thinking, inspiration, and external focus

  • Has a sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

  • Adaptable and flexible, open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

  • Has the highest level of integrity, accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field with significant accounting and finance experience or CPA / CA

  • Sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.

  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, and actions that support Cytiva

  • Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma.

  • Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, vlookup, and macros).

  • Experience working in a global business environment with strong understanding of global process and transactional flows.

  • Experience of project management with strong process mentality including project initiation, scoping, mapping, scheduling, communicating, measuring and follow up.
