Danaher Corporation Sr. HR Business Partner, BioProcess in Marlborough, Massachusetts

What you'll do The Human Resource Manager will help deliver (and develop where appropriate) a broad range of HR services to the organization including special projects and acquisitions.This role is critical in developing and executing HR strategy in support of the BioProcess business imperatives and is a connected partner for business leaders, this role is the primary point of contact for the US BioProcess leaders as well as leaders across the globe with US based teams, providing expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and change management, strategic coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management, acquisitions, integrations, special projects and organizational design. The role is a combination of being able to be strategic but at the same time being very action oriented, working in the details and being a strong project manager for many initiatives on going.

  • One of the key priorities remains hiring a strong talent bench. The organization has added almost 30% of its entire work force in less than a year and has high ambitions for 2021. As the HR BP it is imperative you help design the right org for the future, ensure time to fill is kept within KPIs and partner with talent acquisition and leadership

  • Key priorities include: talent attraction (working with talent acquisition team and leaders to ensure roles are posted ASAP, we reduce time to fill yet go for the best talent with runway and succession potential), talent development (support and coach leaders on developing talent to be the best version of themselves and grow), talent assessment (do regular org assessments on potential vs. performance and strategize with the leadership on talent actions) and retention (ensure we have a very high retention rate of our talent and get to root cause where we see issues)

  • Serve as a first point of contact for associates and managers for questions and guidance on HR topics and issues; escalate concerns beyond scope to Global HR Business Partners

  • Support bi-weekly payroll cycle with local/regional contacts accordingly

  • Responsible for coordinating and supporting LOA within region – including but not limited to payroll related actions, system processing, associate, and manager communications

  • Support ADA process in Region/Location as needed

  • Responsible for initiating, maintaining, and coordinating immigration support for assigned client groups and provide guidance to business leaders as needed

  • Proactively partner with Talent acquisition on hiring and offer process

  • Initiate and follow through relocation payments

  • Support compensation processes as needed including salary revisions, offer development, promotions, etc.

  • Support and lead employee relations cases following Danaher model

  • Coach, consult and partner with managers on performance management and advise on applicable corrective action – develop and guide managers through processes as needed

  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives

  • Advise and partner with the functional / departmental leaders on HR and business matters

  • Advise and partner with the business leader/s on communication and change management

  • Drives and sustains the key processes around engagement, from analysis, communication, feedback and action planning

  • Act as an organizational coach, who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners with Services to maximize team performance

  • Strategically collaborate with managers to design and implement the most effective organizational structures

  • Provide timely, effective and direct coaching to managers, assisting in the development of world class, contemporary leadership skills

  • Provide strategic coaching to key employees as related to succession planning, career path development, and performance management

  • Has personal ownership for key HR metrics (recruitment, development, retention, etc.) for Services area and works with leaders to dive to root cause and develop and execute appropriate countermeasures where needed

    Who you are

  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or MBA

  • Candidate must be US based and ideally based out of our Marlborough, Boston office location

  • Minimum of ten years of progressive Human Resources experience with at least 4-5 years of HRBP experience

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred

  • Experience supporting fast paced-rapid growing environment

  • Working knowledge in Workday is a plus

  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic HR decisions, assessing leadership talent and effectively interfacing with high-level business and operations leaders

  • Strong knowledge of US legal and Labor relations including conducting and administering performance improvement plans, speak up investigations, in depth knowledge of US labor laws and regulations to guide business leaders

  • In-depth understanding of HR concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience

  • Understands, appreciates and thrives in a dynamic environment where there are many special projects and needs that need to run in parallel with delivering on busines as usual HR (which in year 1 of integration) is already a lot of change to the organization.

  • Able to drive projects involving significant number of variables, ability to bring structure, using the right tools and delivering under strict timelines

  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience

  • Coaching and leadership assessment experience

  • Strong orientation using and developing processes – six sigma green/black belt or demonstrated experience to thrive in an environment that relies very heavily on data-based decision making using the Danaher Business System (DBS) methodology

  • Extensive knowledge of excel and/or Power BI will be a strong plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience

  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Results oriented – has track record for delivery results, takes ownership and is accountable

  • Continuous improvement oriented – has familiarity with lean and change management principles and how to apply them to HR
