Description
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplined team and play a crucial rule in the successful delivery of projects. The role will provide you will the opportunity to apply your expertise across large medical device development programmes.
You’ll be required to contribute to the systems engineering department by providing leadership and specialist knowledge and expertise in systems engineering, requirements, systems integration, as well as support the verification and validation. The role requires that you possess exceptional leadership skills and the necessary self-discipline to take ownership and responsibility for delivering complex technical implementations on time, with appropriate documentation, and manage the operational handover to production/field.



Major Responsibilities * Understanding of the core principles of systems engineering to implement systems engineering to deliver complex medical device systems projects * Implement effective controls and measures in support of the delivery of engineering outputs and assist in the development of action plans to address key engineering focus areas * Accountable for professionally supporting, technically, all program milestones and positively engaging to contribute to successful reviews and customer interchanges * Ensure that the design meets all statutory regulatory requirements * Identifying and elevating, when required, technical execution risks (includes technical discipline, technical performance, cost and schedule performance) to programme and functional management * Ensuring the team is knowledgeable of and demonstrates disciplined adherence, approved engineering, engineering databases, engineering tools and design/development processes to ensure robust performance, producibility and affordability * Utilization of measures that provide program and functional management insight into the health of the Team’s technical execution * Implement Leica Biosystems and Danaher values and processes; and * Drive cultural change

Qualification
Skills & Experience * At least 10-15 years’ experience within the engineering discipline with experience in the technical development and systems design of engineering projects * Experience in a product development environment, ideally within a medical device domain * Exceptional leadership skills including the ability to make strategic and tactical decisions * Extensive experience working closely with customers to identify solutions with demonstrable experience in system design, integration, and deployment. Tertiary Qualifications * A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related scientific field * Has (or working towards) Chartered Professional / Certified Professional status with a recognised body
