The Technician Production Operations for Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is responsible for: electric or electro-mechanical assemblies/disassembly operations; all aspects of instrument or product assessment testing, including instrument optics assembly and optical alignment procedures; performing the work according to procedures and maintains accurate records of work performed according to GLP, GMP, and QSRs; setups and adjustments holding tolerance specifications; using small hand tools as well as technical skills to diagnose, troubleshoot and/or repair system failures; has the ability to work with or around chemicals; participates on a Continuous Process Improvement Team and is a contributor to team efforts within the department; follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained; participates in troubleshooting of various methods of production processes and recommend solutions or process improvements; participates in pilot and supports new production builds as instructed; and interacts with departments and colleagues within and outside of Production as needed, including, but not limited to, Technical Operations, QC/QA, Development, Marketing, Engineering, etc.

This position is part of the Flow Cytometry department and will be located in Kendall, FL. The Life Science vision is to advance science through discovery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Performs electric or electro-mechanical assemblies/disassembly operations.

  • Performs instrument optics assembly and optical alignment procedures.

  • Performs all aspects of instrument or product assessment testing.

  • Performs the work according to procedures, and maintains accurate records of work performed according to GLP, GMP, and QSRs. All paperwork and other minor administrative tasks must be completed daily at the beginning and/or end of the shift.

  • Performs setups and adjustments holding tolerance specifications.

  • Use of small hand tools as well as technical skill to diagnose, troubleshoot and/or repair system failures.

  • Participates on a Continuous Process Improvement Team, and is a contributor to team efforts within the department.

  • Participates in troubleshooting of various methods of production processes and recommend solutions or process improvements.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associte’s degree in Engineering is required

  • Manufacturing work experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with optics assembly, optical alignment, and electromechanical assembly processes

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Two-three years manufacturing work experience in an FDA/ISO regulated manufacturing environment

  • Mechanical/electromechanical assembly, testing and troubleshooting equipment experience preferably working in an FDA regulated environment
