The Director of Operations for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the reagent manufacturing operations located in the Miami Metropolitan area. The site manufactures highly technical consumables essential to Beckman Coulter Diagnostics and Life science businesses.

This position is part of the reagents manufacturing team in Miami, FL, and will be an onsite role. At Beck man Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide direction to the site to manage Safety, Finances, and staffing, while meeting product Quality, Delivery, and Productivity

  • Hire, develop and retain talent in support of site goals and customers’ expectations.

  • Drive Continuous Process Improvement

  • Generate budgets and control expenses related to labor, controllable expenses, and manufacturing variances

  • Lead/Interact with site’s functions such as Materials, Procurement, Quality and EHS

  • Coach the team through Product and Process related technical Investigations.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or Engineering (e.g., Chemical Engineering) and 14 years of relevant experience

  • 4+ years of experience managing people in a GMP environment and understanding quality systems

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing and assessing capacity vs. demand, including decisions on safety, process, scheduling, and personnel-related issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to run site daily management meetings and set daily priorities

  • 7+ years of experience driving a lean manufacturing environment and continuous process improvement, including problem-solving issues using lean tools such as 5-whys and determining root cause.

  • Experience analyzing and explaining financial statements and P&Ls, as well as presenting proposals of business processes and capital expenditures

  • Ability to gown for entry to Aseptic manufacturing areas
