The Senior Development Scientists has a will be a member of a team responsible for testing of reagents on Hematology Instruments. The individual will be responsible for keeping abreast of laboratory workflow for Hematology Instruments, and helping ensure that the testing support consumable claims. , Under minimal supervision, the individual conducts testing of new or modified hematology analyzers/reagents and ensures that testing is performed and documented according to plans and schedules. Reagent verification/characterization testing includes reagent stability testing, raw material characterization, Test Method validation, Quality Control, Calibration and analysis of whole blood samples. In addition, the individual must prepare reagent/control bench batches and Development Scale up lots. The individual will assist with trouble shooting by working with cross functional teams. Analyzes data using statistical methods, interprets technical data; promptly reports and documents issues, and collects data for to support global registration of consumable. The individual ensures that the product meets requirements specifications. The individual prepares procedures and reports, accurately documents the execution of the test procedures and test results in accordance with departmental procedures and, assists in troubleshooting product performance issues by interacting with Engineering or other departments. The individual follows all safety procedures and policies in the laboratory. The individual must be a change agent, continuously striving for improvement, and able to work within an agile environment. The individual must be experienced working within a regulated environment. Must be able to lift 40 lbs unassisted.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science Technology or other relevant baccalaureate degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree(s) and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD and 1 years of relevant experience.

The candidate should have experience in the following areas:

•Working in a medical laboratory;

•General laboratory workflow

•Reviewing Hematology Results, including CBC, 5 Part Differential, and Flagging;

•Reagent pooling and filling

•Experience with GLP and GMP

•Knowledge of basic laboratory statistics

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office

•Project planning skills

The candidate should have experience with the following laboratory test equipment:

•pH meter


•Conductivity Meter


•HPLC (preferred)

•Beckman Coulter Particle Counter (preferred)
