Job Description Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer role is a hands-on electrical design professional, experienced with production line support and troubleshooting of electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies in medical devices. The components engineers’ primary function is to support the continued commercialization of the products produced in Miami Instrument Manufacturing. The main emphasis is to find or develop cost effective solutions without jeopardizing the performance of the product. As such the individual must adhere to present and future regulatory and compliance requirements as it applies to 21 CFR 820 / GMP as the area of IVD and RUO medical devices.

Primary Responsibilities * Troubleshooting through any available documentation including wiring diagram schematics, component level PCB schematics drawing and BOMs using problem solving to drive root cause. * Interface with key partners and external vendors as part of the technical cross-functional team developing supplier, engineering specifications, system architecture, detailed component specifications, verification and validation test protocols and reports. * Participate in defining requirements, risks and mitigation reviews, and ensure subsystem requirements meet system requirements. * Experience with selection and maintenance of computer systems, operating systems, and peripherals. Additionally, the associate will work with Clinical Quality Evaluation Lab to understand business needs and for selection of the embedded computer system used in the Miami-based IVD and RUO product portfolio.

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 5 years' experience, or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years' experience or Doctoral degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience. * Electrical CAD with schematic capture and some PCB layout experience * Knowledge ROHS environmental compliance experience and its impact on the products being manufactured is helpful * Familiarity with quality systems required to affect changes (Agile, CPDM and PCAD) * Effective written and verbal communication skills. * Capable of interfacing with other teams as required (manufacturing, tech. operations, etc.) * Experience with medical device manufacturing or other regulated industries (i.e., aviation, pharmaceuticals, drug discovery/manufacturing) highly preferred * Experience with working in GMP certified and registered companies. * Strong analytical skills and advanced skills in MS Office programs * Demonstrated knowledge of the Danaher Business System (DBS) a plus. * Working knowledge of and demonstrated results in implementing Lean tools is preferred.
