The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible to support our ongoing development programs for both new and legacy products. The Mechanical Engineer will be a critical team member working multi-functionally in supporting legacy instrumentation in cost reduction, product design changes due to EOL (End Of Life) and regulatory and environmental standard revisions, and customer-driven product enhancements.

This position is an integral part of the Value Engineering (VAVE)/ Sustaining Engineering and will be in Miami Florida. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage both internal and external partners and projects ensuring timelines and requirements are met.

  • Create and present project financial, timeline and technical reports to peers and management.

  • Ensures robust/reliable product design, verification and validation of initial and subsequent design changes making sure that all FDA/ISO/EN and other related requirements are consistently met.

  • Execute studies, perform calculations and engineering analyses (tolerance analysis, stress analysis, flow analysis) and generate drawings and graphical representations vital to define the new concepts developed.

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnose and resolve problems to component, module level, or system level.

  • Work independently in a cross-disciplinary environment to plan and execute experiments using specialized test equipment and perform experimental data analysis.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.

  • Design experience in sophisticated electro-mechanical systems and solid modeling CAD systems

  • Ability to work in the lab with biohazard materials.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with instrumentation design and integration, including mechanical, fluid handling, thermal systems, and materials specifications a plus

  • Understanding of Product Development Process, Life Cycles Management, and Manufacturing.

  • Proven experience in Simulation and timing analysis
