Are you ready to take your career to the next level and help lead our Hematology business unit into a bright future? We are actively seeking a talented and experienced technical project manager to oversee a wide variety of projects from conceptual design through implementation. As a technical project manager, you will be a part of the Hematology R and D team in Miami and report to the Senior Hardware Manager. You will have the chance to network with vendors, and in-house personnel as well as form a team of experts for each project to maximize resources and efficiency. In this role, you will have the following opportunities, but are not limited to:
Manage complex projects, including technologies electronics (analog/digital/embedded, etc.), sensors, motors, fluidics, optics, enclosures, reagents, biologics, etc., with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with vendors, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and legal team.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor of science degree in electrical, mechanical or relevant engineering degree, MS or PhD preferred and 14+ years of relevant industry product development experience
Technical ability to understand architecture, system interactions and interfaces of a complex system (reagents, hardware, and software) to drive effective design implementation
Expert technical project management skills
Direct participation in technical design reviews and FMEAs to identify critical design factors and risks that impact product performance
Strong ability to write electromechanical requirements and specifications both for internal designs and external contractors, and other technical documentation.
Proven capability to problem-solve, develop, and improve electromechanical systems using analytical and statistical methods.
It would be a plus if you also possess:
Strong mCAD and/or eCAD background, preferably SolidWorks or Allegro.
Medical device development experience.
