The Director of Project Management will lead and direct the growth and strategic initiatives of the Project Management teams supporting Aldevron’s nucleic acid clients. This role requires knowledge of biomanufacturing processes and regulations to effectively lead the teams responsible for the management of pDNA and mRNA development projects and cGMP manufacturing campaigns. The Director will lead the pDNA, mRNA, and technical project management teams totaling 25 associates.
Set short and long-term goals and KPIs for the Project Management team and sub-teams in alignment with the Project & Program Management department, Business Unit, and organization goals and KPIs
In partnership with Portfolio Management, regularly evaluate and report on progress against KPIs and goals to senior leadership and drive continuous improvement efforts to close gaps.
Responsible for critical internal and external stakeholder escalations to support the team and build and nurture client and Aldevron relationships.
In partnership with Training & Enablement, set strategy for standard processes and associated training and adherence plans to enhance consistency and predictability in project planning and execution for Aldevron and our clients.
Appropriately and dynamically manage Project Management resources across sub-teams, including developing and managing the Project Management budget, to ensure maximum value for Aldevron and our clients.
In partnership with Training & Enablement, regularly evaluate team effectiveness to develop high impact educational opportunities for associates to develop their Project Management skills.
In partnership with all Business Unit leadership and teams, set strategy to develop and implement processes and tools to deliver an exceptional client experience across the entire client journey.
Utilize Danaher Business System tools, including daily management, standard work, and visual project management, to drive continuous improvement enabling the Project Management team to regularly meet and exceed goals.
Build and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders to allow for rapid resolution of challenges and collaboration on sustainable solutions to drive mutual success.
Provide regular, actionable feedback to associates regarding their performance in addition to coaching and mentorship to support their personal and professional growth.
Focus on building succession and retention across the PM team through robust development planning.
10+ years’ experience in project management with 5+ years of leadership experience required.
3+ years’ experience managing client-facing projects or teams in a regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical field required, CDMO experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences or related field
Master's degree in project management or PMP certification strongly preferred.
Successful experience building high performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This role requires up to 10% travel.
