Service Technician is responsible for developing the knowledge and skills to support the maintenance, installation and triage repair of Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites. This entry-level position works under close supervision and mentoring by a manager, regional specialist and senior engineers within the territory. Tasks are performed independently as competencies are developed.
_Primary Responsibilities_ · Completes and successfully pass assigned training tasks · Develops knowledge of SCIEX products · Learns and develops the customer support and technical skills necessary to perform high quality maintenance and triage repair on instruments · Performs preventive maintenance and triage repair on select products · Accompanies experienced Field Service engineers on installation and repair calls· May perform some installation/repair independently as ability improves · Learns and completes basic administration duties (closing out calls, SMAX, etc…) · Maintains own tool and parts inventory to ensure adequate supply
· Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering · Entry level - No experience required · Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures · Effective communication skills · Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs · Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist. · Must be able to climb a minimum 30 foot ladder · Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region · Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols · Exposure to varied travel conditions either driving or flying
