Our team continues to build and advance the company’s capability to respond favorably to requests for proposals (RFPs) and customer requests for information (RFI). This allows Beckman Coulter to accelerate and improve its ability to win business and highlight its capabilities. You will work closely with the sales team and designated subject matter experts throughout the organization to successfully craft large multi-facility, multi-discipline RFPs. You will leverage your knowledge and experience to respond competitively to RFPs in terms of proposed configuration, pricing, and value proposition.
In this role you will also create and continuously improve Standard Work (SW) to drive consistency, standardization, and accuracy in RFP responses. An important part of the role will be to continually improve efficiency in conjunction with the team to develop and maintain a database that includes high-impact content to make RFP response as efficient as possible.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Create highly accurate and robust RFPs through a solid understanding of company products, pricing guidelines, and tools.
Continually develop, innovate, and manage an RFP response database with sophistication and applicability to multiple types of RFPs.
Act as a resource for RFIs and develops responses to complex and high-value inquiries.
Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on both RFP data management and content development appropriate to answer questions. This includes recognizing the real needs of the customer and insight into providing a right-sized proposal.
Collaborate closely with members of the sales, marketing, finance, legal, and product teams to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely.
Work with all Beckman Coulter Product lines and on complex multisite deals – (IDNs and Health Systems) as well as collaborate with other teams that support VISNs, GPOs, and Government RFPs.
Work on projects and analysis independently and in collaboration with other departments that improve availability of high impact-information and respond to RFPs.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years Or Master’s Degree and 7 years of experience required.
Background in Proposals and RFP development through sales experience (preferably in laboratory instrument sales) or equivalent RFP / Strategic Proposals experience.
Detail oriented with strong business and financial acumen.
Strong time management and organizational skills. Must possess strong process orientation and project management skills.
Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a teamwork mindset that includes coaching, training, teaching, and consulting.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with sales, finance, operations, marketing, other internal functions, and customers.
Intermediate to Advanced level in Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft products.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Industry experience and expertise in diagnostics, diagnostic instrumentation, laboratory and/or, reagents businesses
Negotiation skills are desired
