The Role :

This role will be working with Product Managers, Solution Architects and Program Managers you will be at the forefront of definition for next generation product development of Leica Biosystems medical device products. You will be involved in a broad range of projects to understand the product business domain, model it and provide comprehensive definition for new product features. The principal will also work with other analysts to evolve Leica Biosystem’s approach to systems analysis towards best practice.

Your key responsibilities will include, and not limited to:

  • Act as the Domain Authority/Subject Matter Expert within multiple software development programmers that may span multiple scrum teams.

  • Engage and lead discussions and workshops with key technical and product stakeholders, building and maintaining key relationships across Leica Biosystems.

  • Contribute towards and help drive best practices and process improvements within the analyst group.

  • Coordinate and perform the elicitation, prioritization, documentation of programme and/or product requirements.

  • Collaborate with Product Management/Owners to populate, prioritize and manage the programme release backlog.

  • Champion best practices in information and requirements management.

  • Perform functional modelling and analysis of complex problems and of our product business domains and major new features.

  • Review system analysis artefacts produced by others.

  • Contribute towards regulatory compliance, product safety and security risk management.

  • Collaborate with software and verification engineers in order to ensure an effective understanding of the project needs and compliance with them.

  • Capture, document and manage formal system requirements to support formal verification/validation of the product.

  • As a member of the Scrum team support delivery of team objectives as required.

To be successful in this opportunity, a prior experience in the following criteria would be required:

  • A minimum of 15+ years’ experience in software product development with at least 10 years working as a system or business analyst. Needs to be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Tertiary qualification in software engineering or a related discipline.

  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills required.

  • An exceptional communicator with first rate stakeholder management skills enabling you to effectively collaborate, contribute and persuade at all levels and amongst both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.

  • A proven ability to drive continuous improvement within an organization.

  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.

  • Working experience conducting requirement workshops

  • Working experience in an Agile development team.

  • Experience in modelling: UML, BPMN, Use Cases, functional flow, state models, data models, UI modelling.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Strong problem-solving skills

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience and application of security principles.

  • Formal certifications in business analysis (e.g. CBAP, IIBA-AAC)

  • Experience working within a medical device or healthcare environment or other highly regulated domains.

  • Background in Software Development.

  • Experience using Quality Centre/ALM, JIRA and Confluence
