The Role:

Performs Verification and Validation Test Engineering activities within the R&D Team, to ensure the device under test satisfies its System and Component Level Requirements.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity to the candidate to develop test engineering skills by working on cutting edge technology to deliver a quality product fully verified and validated within a highly regulated industry in time.

Your key responsibilities will include, and not limited to:

  • Perform Verification of Robotic designs, Fluidic designs and their associated control Systems

  • Perform Verification of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic designs

  • Requirements Analysis

  • Author and Review of Test Cases and Procedures

  • Author Test Plans and Test Reports for small to medium projects

  • Execution of Test Cases / Procedures and sign-off of result

  • Identify Test Tools required for the testing, Define Requirements and perform verification on the Test Tools (Hardware, Fluidic and Robotic Jigs)

  • Provide estimates for project related verification and validation activities

  • Review and Perform defect verification

  • Being motivated, proactive and self-guided in solving problems and conscious of importance of achieving agreed deliverable dates with opportunity to develop the team role

  • Resolve issues in a timely and cross-functional manner, work with other teams to efficiently solve problems, and become a source of technical expertise / knowledge of Testing Methodologies and Test Equipment.

  • Works well in a team, communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

  • Write and Review V&V Documentation

  • Verification of Prototype and final designs within time, cost and quality constraints

  • Follow relevant quality procedures in order to deliver quality products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement.

  • Contribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables

  • Work safely, complying with all safety procedures, rules and instructions; and reporting workplace hazards, incidents or injuries to manager.

To be successful in this opportunity, a prior experience in the following criteria would be required:

  • Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronic) alternatively, equivalent experience in related field.

  • A Minimum of 1-2+ years’ experience in Hardware testing of a product within an R&D environment.

  • Experience in the application of test processes and methods.

  • Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Mechatronic / Robotic Hardware Test and/or Design processes / methods

  • Fluidic Hardware Test and/or Design processes / methods

  • Mechanical Component / System Test and/or Design processes / methods

  • Control Systems Test and/or Design processes / methods

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical documents

  • Experience with the following technologies:

  • Experience in use of HP Quality Centre

  • MS Windows OS environment.

  • Experience in mechanical and electrical design CAD Tools (ProE, Altium)

  • Management of defects and change using systems such as JIRA.

  • Experience in application of test process through a hardware and software development life cycle.

  • Excellent self-management skills

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry e.g. medical, defence shall be highly regarded

  • Understanding of System Engineering Principles

  • Experience using commercial test equipment e.g. National Instruments, Agilent
