1.0 Direct Territory Deliverables

  • Achieve Annual Quota in designated territory.

  • Achieve Monthly Quota in designated territory.

  • Provide prompt and accurate forecasts as requested.

  • Participate to programmed funnel reviews and marketing reviews when requested.

  • Provide all reports when requested by manager within set timescales/deadlines.

  • Develop and maintain accurate Territory Plan.


  • To identify, qualify, develop, support and close sales of the Molecular Devices system portfolio- Plate readers, liquid handling products, imaging systems, clone pix systems, microarray scanners, threshold technology and associated software and reagents

    3.0 Prepare and present basic product demonstrations and training to existing and potential customers.

4.0 Develop, update and maintain to a high degree of accuracy and integrity, the prospect database (SFDC) and existing customer list and monitor sales growth.

5.0 Achieve assigned sales targets while remaining within the established expense budget and providing customer satisfaction.

6.0 Close liaison with the rest of the team to ensure seamless customer support from initial interest to post-sales support.

7.0 Maintain a high level of technical and application competence of Molecular Devices products.

8.0 Monitor competitor’s activities, products, and potential new or improved applications or product extensions.

9.0 Evaluate effectiveness of Molecular Devices’ marketing programs.

10.0 Provide monthly revenue and product forecasting, quarterly plans of action, status, and expense reports.

11.0 Attend trade shows, seminars and workshops as well as maintaining customer contacts to develop and improve sales skills.

12.0 Perform other related duties as assigned.

13.0 Takes responsibility for own personal development and knowing about the market and competition.

14.0 Is aware of Health and Safety and conducts self in a way that does not put him/herself or any other person at risk.

Required CompetenciesKnowledge

  • Previous experience successfully selling Capital Equipment's from LifeSciences Industry preferred with relevant B2B sales experience in a complex environment or graduate with a high aptitude for sales; in-person sales experience preferred

  • Scientific background in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Engineering

  • Must be a creative, innovative and flexible team player - coordination with the sales team and marketing group is critical to success – but must be driven to be held accountable for own results

  • Strong track record of consistent on or above target performance,

  • High energy individual with strong business acumen and presentation skills
