The Junior Mechanical Test Engineer (m/f/d) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for all testing and prototyping activities of the mechanical components of our clinical automation systems and devices. This position is part of the R&D organization located in Munich (Germany) and will be on-site. You will be a part of the Hardware Test and Prototyping team and report to the Manager HW Verification. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Plan, design and execute mechanical and characterizing tests as well as reliability tests for laboratory automation systems and components

  • Take responsibility for the creation of the complete test documentation; ensure compliance with the quality management system

  • Investigate identified HW issues (root cause analysis etc.)

  • Install, maintain, update and document our internal prototype systems and components

  • Design, create and validate mechanical or electromechanical test banks and tools

  • Continuously improve test methods and process workflows

  • Collaborate in multi-functional project teams

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Mechatronics or in a related technical field

  • First experience as a Test or Mechanical Engineer in an electro-mechanical environment (e.g. medical/technical devices; Lab Automation or similar)

  • Expertise in handling mechanical components

  • Excellent digital literacy which includes Microsoft Applications, Database and Web-based tools

  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills; German is highly preferred
