The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the implementation of post-launch design changes for medical devices. In this role you have the possibility to initiate and execute design reviews with a multi-functional team.
This position is part of the R&D department located in Munich and will be hybrid. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead design change activities to implement post launch changes for DxA5000 and AutoMate product lines
Create and maintain 3D CAD files, drawings, datasheets and bill of materials
Create of technical requirements and specifications
Analyze and investigate root cause of field issues
Work with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and to address technical issues
Create and maintain design related documentation such as dFMEAs, design descriptions and test specifications
Represent own function in cross-functional design change implementation team
Provide input for technical documentation such as IFU, Service Manual and Assembly Instructions
Work closely together with other functional groups, including SCM, Operations, Quality, Technical Publishing and Service
Maintain strict compliance with internal quality management system standards
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant working experience
Experience in leading cross-functional teams
Demonstrated knowledge of technical principles, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering and ability to employ sound project management
Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and improve mechanical and electromechanical systems using formal problem solving methodology with analytical and statistical methods
Excellent oral and written English communication skills, German is a plus
Proficient in performing tolerance analysis and use of GD&T
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to focus efforts, overcome obstacles and complete key objectives
Proficient in SolidWorks 2016 or later
Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
