Danaher Corporation EHS Specialist in Muskegon, Michigan
What you’ll do:
Work closely and in coordination with the safety representation from the site General Contractor (GC) safety representative(s)
Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices
Assist in the delivery of training to Cytiva associates, as well as contractors, in the site hazards related to the construction on-site.
Conduct accident / near miss investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations. Implement corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed. Maintain various reporting systems and provides safety analysis as required.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field as well as 3+ years of direct experience in Environmental Health and Safety activities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with life safety practices in either an industrial or construction setting.
Possess the necessary interpersonal skills to deal with difficult situations.
Ability to lead incident investigations to discover root cause.
Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Oversight of EHS responsibilities in a construction setting.
EHS Management systems and/or tools for reporting, tracking, and resolution of EHS related issues such as Gensuite.
