Danaher Corporation EHS Specialist in Muskegon, Michigan

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely and in coordination with the safety representation from the site General Contractor (GC) safety representative(s)

  • Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices

  • Assist in the delivery of training to Cytiva associates, as well as contractors, in the site hazards related to the construction on-site.

  • Conduct accident / near miss investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations. Implement corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed. Maintain various reporting systems and provides safety analysis as required.

    Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field as well as 3+ years of direct experience in Environmental Health and Safety activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with life safety practices in either an industrial or construction setting.

  • Possess the necessary interpersonal skills to deal with difficult situations.

  • Ability to lead incident investigations to discover root cause.

  • Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Oversight of EHS responsibilities in a construction setting.

  • EHS Management systems and/or tools for reporting, tracking, and resolution of EHS related issues such as Gensuite.
