Position Objective:

Support the EHS team in the development, implementation, maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of Environmental Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulatory Requirements, Environmental Management System, ISO14001, and Business Continuity Management System, ISO 22301.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct accident / near miss investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations. Implement corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed. Maintain various reporting systems and provides safety analysis as required

  • Coordinate, conduct, and track various training to support company programs

  • Manage LOTO Program, Contractor Safety Program

  • Coordinate / Perform periodic safety Inspections

  • Manage / monitor and support the hazard awareness program to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices

  • Coordinating / conduct continuous improvements projects

  • Conduct and / or coordinate job safety analysis, industrial hygiene, and other hazard and risk analysis (JSA/JHA)

  • Participating in department and corporate safety committees

  • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety / security concerns

  • Perform and/or oversee environmental monitoring for facility discharges, storm water management, air emissions and other environmental related permits

  • Perform routine industrial and hazardous waste management activities such as waste inventories, vendor scheduling and waste haul oversight, and manifest tracking and filing

  • Completing miscellaneous projects and assigned duties

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, safety engineering, safety science, industrial hygiene, or related degree program, or equivalent on the job industrial EHS experience.

  • 3 – 5 years or more of Safety Programs and Policy experience.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulation

  • Strong aptitude to research and implement safety solutions

  • Experience in industrial machining, assembly, hydraulics industry a plus

  • OSHA 30 Hr 1910.00 General Industry, NFPA 70E Arc Flash training a plus

  • OSHA Authorized Instructor for General Industry a plus

  • Must be well organized, highly detailed oriented and accuracy driven

  • Sound judgment, decision making and problem analysis skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective planning and organizational skills

  • Must have the ability to interact with the department managers, facility staff, employees at all levels, and contractors to maintain a safe and healthy work place

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments with limited supervision

  • Must be willing to wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses and safety shoes

Physical Requirements:

  • Required Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling Weight: 40 lbs. Frequency: Seldom

  • Frequent walking throughout the facility
