Danaher Corporation Manual Machinist II in New Port Richey, Florida
First Shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM - Monday thru Friday
(Overtime and weekend work is routine)
- Perform the tasks as a Manual Machinist.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Inspect work using precision measuring instruments (hand gauges, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, functional gauges, optical comparator aka shadow graph).
Work with complex castings and forgings as well as machine parts from bar stock.
Read and understand all types of drawings required to machine parts such as castings, forgings, and detailed engineering sketches.
Deburr parts during machining operations.
Work to close tolerances and inspect all work.
Work with various types of inspection equipment to ensure quality.
Troubleshoot and diagnose machine process issues.
Maintain acceptable quality levels and productivity rates.
Perform basic set-up. • Understand and use measuring equipment.
Complete all necessary paperwork as required including scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers and data.
Selects proper holding devices, chucks, collets, faceplates, vices, sine plates, etc.
Indicate machine axis, fixtures, tooling, and components as required to meet given tolerances
Perform related tasks as assigned
High School diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED).
Minimum five (3) years of experience working on manual machining equipment.
Good working knowledge of shop math.
Capable of reading machine drawings (i.e. blueprints).
Possesses functional knowledge of general dimensioning and tolerancing.
Understand, follow and effectively communicate verbal and written instructions.
FAA certification may be required.
Work overtime as required.
Frequent lifting up to 35 pounds. Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. Lifting frequency: Daily.
Pass visual acuity exam.
Required to stand for long time periods (for a minimum of 8 hours or more).
Frequently twist and bend.
Be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
Team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) while performing tasks.
Comfortable with change and Continuous Improvement.
Work safely by following all safety procedures.
Support the Site and company Quality policies (i.e. FOD and line clearance policies of the company).
Participate in a minimum of one (1) Kaizen event each year.
This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Perform preventative maintenance as required.
Must follow all environmental policies and procedures when working with chemicals, oils, and solvents.
