About the Opportunity

This role will be a leader and coach for our Technical Sales Engineers and will report to the Chief Revenue Officer. First and foremost, you will guide the team in best practices, industry standards and market trends. You will contribute to the overall technical sales strategy for all Aquatic Informatics products. Working collaboratively with members of the Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product Management teams, you will create a unified approach to communicating and specifying customer requirements and market needs.


  • Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of Aquatic Informatics’ technical offerings within the enterprise market, including industry and marketplace strategies and trends to develop an effective long-term technical sales strategy and plan.

  • Recruit and manage an international team of high caliber Technical Sales Engineers.

  • Manage the Technical Sales Team by introducing and enforcing standard methodologies, resolving conflicts, removing barriers, and recognizing success.

  • Drive the team in the development of persuasive and repeatable demonstration scripts which showcase the power of the Aquatic Informatics software suite.

  • Work collaboratively with the Sales Team to uncover architectural solutions that addresses potential customers’ organizational challenges with Aquatic Informatics’ software offerings.

  • Develop and implement solutions to prospective customers devised in conjunction with Aquatic Informatics Sales, Professional Services, and Product Management teams.

  • Present technical presentations at industry conferences and serve as a subject matter authority.

  • Travel, about 30%, domestically and internationally.


  • Post-secondary degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Enterprise Software or SaaS Technical Pre-Sales Experience.

  • 7+ years of technical sales experience.

  • Experience leading a successful sales engineering team.

  • Product Management exposure is helpful for communicating the voice of customer improvements.

  • Experience in hydrology, water quality and/or water resource management is an asset.

  • Outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to combine professional, persuasive, and personable delivery.

  • Self-starter who is able to prioritize and balance responsibilities.

    The hourly rate or salary range for this role is $80k-130kUSD . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

    • This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay up to 20% of annual salary.
