As the Area Business Manager – Service you will accomplish this by identifying best practices and novel strategies to gain Area-wide adoption within all service districts and sales regions with the aim of driving profitable growth. To do this you will be responsible for managing revenue, forecasting and establishing product specific metrics (KPI’s). You will serve as a partner and consultant to the Regional Sales Managers, Sales Directors, District Service Managers, Health System Executives (Strategic Corporate Accounts), and Area Service Directors on their overall service revenue and portfolio expansion performance. By utilizing sales analytics, you will consult with the local teams to identify strategic opportunities, problem solve and execute countermeasures especially in those geographies facing downward trends. You will regularly report on the health of the business to the North American Commercial (NACO) Sales and Service leadership team.
You will also work with a team of Service Agreement Sales Specialists (SASRs) who will support the sales organization in gaining market share and competitive capture by structuring and administering contracts while aligning their activities with key growth initiatives. In this role it is important that you are consistently collaborating cross-functionally with Global Service Marketing and NACO SBM on new product launches, market intelligence and key initiatives to drive the Service business.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Responsible for driving profitable core growth of Service Revenue by monitoring and analyzing data, going to the sales team directly to gain evidence/feedback (GEMBA), and implementing novel strategies and best practices across all NACO service districts and sales regions.
Guide and collaborate with the Manager of the SASR Team. Align this team to key growth strategies and deploy to support the sales/service organization in gaining market share and competitive capture.
Analyze and help outline the path for key commercial opportunities from opportunity development through successful execution under the guidance of commercial leadership and other department heads.
Analyze the performance of regional/district and area sales/service teams to identify areas of improvements and best practices. Use this analysis to provide feedback and areas of focus to improve performance.
Drive current PSI process for forecasts and demand planning that is integrated with critical stakeholders in this process (sales, finance, operations, supply chain, marketing). Work with sales leaders to collate forecasts, funnel adequacy, funnel conversion, and a clean opportunity view to the business.
Drive quarterly or bi-annual TSE/HSE/DSM meetings, to drive strong growth in Service portfolio knowledge, competitive analysis, best practices, winning strategies, and depth in product portfolio and value proposition.
Plan and execute/participate in Problem Solving Process (PSPs) and kaizens as gap countermeasure practices as needed.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in field with 9+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree in field with 7+ years’ experience OR Doctoral degree with 4+ years’ experience
5+ years of inside or direct sales or product marketing / P&L management experience required (preferably within Diagnostics)
