The Business Transformation Manager is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the best practices and standard work defined by Transformation Management Office (TMO). Leader in this role must be able to help cross functional partners identify top priority needs, design and implement plans for change, and deliver communication that quantifies the results that occurred as a result of the event. This position will also be responsible for gathering and analyzing key data from teams and presenting action recommendations to business leaders. Incumbents should be comfortable leading groups, driving change, providing guidance to others and have strong interpersonal skills. Business Transformation Manager will work closely with the Cepheid functional Leaders to help deploy transformational capacity and enhancements which enables world class customer engagement and support experiences.
Your essential duties and responsibilities include:
Help Drive Transformation project success through delivery of budgets for multi-year funding and expenditure within the context of long-term strategic priorities.
Leverage TMO Best Practices/Standard Work to collaborate on Driving targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and the change management process.
Collaborate with functional and business unit leaders in the development of a Transformation Management (TMO) best practices and leveraging DBS for business transformation.
Facilitate the execution of TMO training sessions when appropriate
Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work-flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business and provide counsel on appropriate TMO/DBS tools to eliminate them.
Participate in merger and acquisition activities including due diligence, identification of opportunities and integration activities.
Benchmark and incorporate standard methodologies from other Danaher locations and externally.
Be the center of knowledge (brain trust) for TMO process, approaches, and best practices, build library of best practices and share across the corporation. Engage business leaders and resources through webinars and outbound communication plans and other activities to push and inspire their thinking and results.
Train and install foundational capabilities in TMO that relates to Policy Deployment (PD), Action Planning, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management. Work with central and regional organizations to create KPI bowlers and Visual Management to sustain commercial process improvement.
Scope and Impact of Position Responsibilities
The Business Transformation Manager reports to the VP, Global Business Transformation and has a direct impact on the success of Cepheid with respect to both top and bottom-line growth by facilitating the successful implementation and sustainability of TMO. The Business Transformation Manager helps shapes strategy, focuses execution and creates value for customers and shareholders alike.

Be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint. Must be very customer focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills. Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Cepheid’s culture and gain the confidence of the Cepheid organization. This person will be high energy and able to handle conflict.
Be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.
Have a strong Gemba-orientation (spend time and drive change at the ‘real place’ – where the ‘value happens’).
Some travel is required (up to 50%).
Your education and/or experience will include
Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
12+ years of relevant work experience
Experience influencing others and developing capabilities in others/teams
Experience working in global environments.
