Position Summary and Overview
The Director of Product Management, Advanced Staining Reagents is responsible for developing winning product portfolio strategies to differentiate LBS in the marketplace with responsibility for the Advanced Staining Reagents product revenue globally.
They will provide leadership of the Global Staining Reagents Product Management team to set product performance and quality requirements up front to develop, launch and manage the on-market lifecycle of our staining reagents portfolio.
The Director of Product Management, Advanced Staining Reagents will foster close collaboration with the selling unit commercial teams to drive growth for the Advanced Staining Reagents business through the introduction of new products with high impact launches (Launch Excellence). They will ensure the Product Management team provides portfolio support covering materials, registrations and sales training, together with ongoing initiatives to drive growth of the existing product portfolio by region.

People & Leadership
Provide leadership to the Advanced Staining Reagents Product Management team to drive high team engagement and performance, whilst recruiting and developing associates to ensure skills, capability and succession planning align with business needs.
Drive a continuous improvement & problem-solving mindset for the team. Specifically develop & maintain processes to manage the governance of the Staining Reagents product portfolio lifecycle by region including the introduction (Launch excellence and registrations), on market maintenance (product updates, registration renewals) and discontinuance.
Participate as an integral and effective member of the AS&I Product Management & Technical Support Management Team, providing appropriate representation for the Newcastle & Amsterdam Product Management teams and the needs/requirements of the Commercial teams.
Strategy & Growth
Develop global product portfolio strategies adapted for each region that account for current & future diagnostic trends, competition, market conditions, etc., formalized through structured 3-5 year product roadmap prioritization and rationalization process, including reviewing new product opportunities identified by the Innovation team.
Set the Advanced Staining Reagents product performance & quality requirements anchored around user needs and LBS brand values.
Take ownership of the maintenance and growth of the Antibody OEM business.
Drive performance of the Commercial Realization function to provide strong collaboration with the SU commercial teams through consistent and standardized communication forums and management of queries/escalations prioritized on the basis of business impact. Maintain a regular cadence of team interactions to ensure requests for action are prioritized appropriately and maintained via daily management.
Manage the Advanced Staining Reagents growth bridge ensuring that new product introduction targets by region are aligned with the regional teams and their growth rooms.
Marketing & Business
Drive marketing activities and development of sales tools and trainings to maximize product revenues whilst facilitating effective product knowledge transfer through scheduling of sales trainings, team member participation in all-hands calls.
Manage the Commercial Realization function to drive collection of market information, competitor intelligence and customer insights in preparation for the annual strategy cycle, including engaging market research organizations and ensuring the learnings are adequately captured and documented to support future programs.
In conjunction with Global Marketing, ensure the market Mekkos are maintained at an acceptable standard to be used as inputs to strategy, new product initiations and Launch Excellence programs.
Collaborate with R&D to develop and launch new products according to Product Launch Excellence (PLE) process.
Collaborate with Global and Regional Marketing teams on messaging of value proposition and positioning of products/solutions to ensure marketing collateral/evidence materials support initiatives and campaigns to maximizes sales outcomes.
Take the lead in driving the Staining Reagents inputs into the Advanced Staining & Imaging annual budgeting process.
Drive achievement of key growth performance metrics and report these via scorecards to the Product Management & Technical Support leadership team each month.
Minimum Degree level qualification in Marketing
Demonstrated success in managing a team of Product Management professionals and Managers across different sites and time zones.
Track record of successful leadership in a global organization with minimum of 5 years management experience
- Experience in HIPAA / GDPR environment
- This role will be remote, up to 25-30% travel expected at times of peak activity
Deals effectively and professionally with pressure and capably performs while still managing and prioritizing in a demanding, time-sensitive environment.
Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to give structured, persuasive and engaging presentations to audiences with a wide variety of backgrounds
