Provide expertise in scientific & technical applications support for Pall Medical products with primary focus on the Media and Diagnostics portfolio.

The field application specialist provides scientific and technical applications support for external (c.75%) and internal customers (25%)

  • Take responsibility for, and manage routine and complex technical projects without supervision

  • Prepare test plans and protocols in conjunction with key partners based on information supplied and confirm acceptance

  • in/outsource/conduct test work in accordance with relevant procedures

  • Interpret test data, prepare specific reports and confirm customer acceptance

  • Write technical position pieces, abstracts, posters and scientific papers

Maintain close customer contact (remote and on-site) before, during and after project completion

  • Communicate project status regularly

  • Communicate issues/problems as soon as they arise

  • Answer technical questions

  • Travel to external customer sites for technical meetings or for on-site testing/product implementation

  • Give presentations and training

  • Maintain regular customer contact following project completion

Establish priorities and decide appropriate action required to meet required target

Schedule work into laboratories in conjunction with appropriate business functions

Report project progress and status using appropriate tools to partners

Communicate business activities/requirements to senior management and cross functional teams

Supporting activity

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of current local, regional and global regulatory trends, issues and guidelines relating to products being supported and disseminate information to team.

  • Develop expertise by building relationships with customers, key opinion leaders, attendance at conferences and by regular communication with other Pall groups. Disseminate information to the team

Contribute to NPD ideation

  • Attend training courses as required

Take on ‘special’ projects as requested

  • Assist with training and development of new and existing associates

  • Suggest new ideas and actions to improve efficiency and workflow and highlight areas for improvement

Contribute to setting of yearly SLS objectives

Other support duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

Degree/Higher or equivalent in Life Sciences/Engineering and demonstrable relevant work experience

Position Competencies (include behavioral characteristics and leadership capabilities)

Knowledge and skills:

  • In depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in own subject area and basic knowledge of related fields

  • Applies understanding of the business and how own area integrates with others to achieve business unit objectives

  • Demonstrable project management, planning, prioritisation and organizational skills

  • Identifies and solves straightforward technical problems using DBS tools

  • Guides and influences others

  • Skilled in laboratory techniques and analysis and interpretation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Fluent English

  • Self starter and self-motivated

  • Conversant with appropriate software

Other Requirements (include culture, fit and values)

  • Align with relevant Corporate and local policies; such as local Quality Manual, Health & Safety, travel and IT policies. Undertake assigned compliance and ethics training

  • Full driving licence

  • Current passport

  • Must be prepared to travel
